We don’t know what was more incredible, our first 420 Games experience, or getting to visit California, and seeing the Pacific Ocean for the very first time. We really got to experience Cali in high class, fueled by the many edible samples we received, as well as all the sample topicals, which aided in our recovery. It’s so hard to narrow down a favorite part of our trip to Los Angeles, when we got to do and see so much. Our afternoon after the 420 Games was spent walking from Santa Monica to Venice, for lunch and back, before heading to the after party. The following morning was spent relaxing, and taking part in some active recovery on the beautiful beach of Santa Monica. We were even able to squeeze in a scenic bike ride before catching our first Uber to LAX, and onto our free first class flights, home to Colorado.
From the moment we touched down in Los Angeles, we could feel the west coast energy, and it felt good. Even though it was in October of 2015, I still remember running my first 5k like it was yesterday. I remember it so clearly for many reasons. The first being, it was the first competitive race I had ever participated in, so the experience itself was entirely new to me. It was also the best physical performance I had ever seen myself accomplish. You would think those reasons would be enough to brand the event into my memory, but what I remember most is how I felt. In 2016 I started listening to The Tim Ferriss Show podcast. If you aren’t familiar with the work of Tim Ferriss, I highly recommend the show and his books.
